Paris with Maureen Keegan

Paris is a magical place. Everywhere you turn, there's something incredible to look at: the art, the fashions, all that gorgeous Haussmannian architecture. And let's not forget the Eiffel Tower - especially when it sparkles! On this five day trip, you'll have plenty of time to explore the culture and beauty of Paris but you'll also get to deep dive into some of the best things about the City of Light: its food, its markets and its Champagne!

 

We have group activities planned for every day that we’re together, but have also factored in some time for you to spend at your leisure (or hanging out with the group - it’s up to you), making this trip as suited to first-time visitors as it is to the Paris habitué(e).

 

Highlights:​

• A Champagne masterclass with a wine professional who exclusively uses champagnes made by women. You'll learn everything you wanted to know about Champagne, taste 4-5 different Champagnes and enjoy a generous selection of French delicacies

• A one hour sunset cruise along the most beautiful avenue in Paris: the Seine. We’ll sail past the facades of many of Paris’s most historic buildings all the way to the great iron lady, the Eiffel Tower.

• A guided visit to the best flea market in Paris.

• A bike ride to experience the biggest and best of Paris’ legendary landmarks. We’ll ride by Paris’ famous attractions, museums, gardens and bridges and will learn interesting stories behind them.

• A luxurious afternoon tea in a historic hotel, where we can be as chic as chic can be. We can expect a three-tiered selection of treats: mini-sandwiches on the bottom, still-warm scones in the middle and three fanciful creations by one of Paris’ top pastry chefs. 

• A market-to-table cooking class and lunch with a fabulous Parisienne in her beautiful apartment. We'll visit one of the best food markets in Paris and will then whip up a delicious three-course meal, just like that!

• The ability to choose to spend your free time exploring the city as you wish - or to join the group on spontaneous walking tours around various Parisian neighbourhoods

 

Sample day:​

8:30am: breakfast at our hotel

9:30am: we’ll walk across the Seine for our bike tour

10am: our 3.5 hour leisurely bike tour starts

1:45pm: lunch at a neighbourhood crêperie

Afternoon at leisure

8pm: dinner at a well-loved soufflé restaurant

 

The trip includes: 

• Shared (twin) accommodation in a four-star boutique hotel in chic Saint-Germain-des-Près

• Roundtrip airport transfers

• All breakfasts, two lunches and an afternoon tea

• All scheduled group activities 

 

The trip does not include: 

• flights

• meals with the exception of breakfast and indicated meals

• medical insurance and trip cancellation insurance

• incidentals

 

Things to note:

• Parisian hotel rooms are notoriously small but we have chosen a hotel in the heart of everything with lovely public spaces in which you can relax and unwind in case you’d like to spread out beyond your shared room.

• We will mostly get around by foot and will also use public transportation when required, with the exception of your airport transfers, which will be by private vehicle

• You will not need to contribute to any gratuities on this trip
